Grants
Is this your first time applying for an NZCT grant?
If so, read below before starting on our Fluxx grant application portal.
Who can apply
Applicants should be incorporated entities and eligible for a New Zealand Business Number (NZBN) in their own right, e.g. registered under the Charitable Trust Act; Incorporated Societies Act; or, in some circumstances, not-for-profit organisations registered under the Companies Act. Registration under the Charities Act is optional but does not confirm incorporation status.

Questions and answers about grants
When you're ready to apply, click the Fluxx grants portal button.
We get about 300 applications per month. We will generally have a decision for you in four to nine weeks.
1. Checking and assessing applications
Incoming applications are checked for completeness and assessed against gambling regulations and NZCT funding criteria. We also check to ensure your organisation doesn't have any outstanding accountability relating to previous grants.
Our grants-making process
2. Funding recommendations and decision
We send your application to the relevant Regional Advisory Committee (RAC) to make funding recommendations based on their local knowledge and expertise. These recommendations are passed on to one of our two NZCT Net Proceeds Committees (NPC) for a final decision. NPC1 consists of NZCT trustees. NPC2 only considers smaller applications and consists of NZCT senior managers, who are key persons. NPC2 typically meets fortnightly.
3. Notification and payment
Applicants are advised of the NPC’s decision by email within three to five days after the NPC meeting. Successful applicants are generally paid their grant within three to five days after the NPC meeting.
If you’re successful
If your grant application is approved, we'd be very grateful for any recognition and acknowledgement you can give us so that people understand the role we play in your community.
