NZCT is proud to support the 2016 National Sevens tournament which kicks off on Saturday 16 January in Rotorua. The tournament, which conclude on Sunday 17 January, will feature twenty six teams from across the country, as they compete to claim their respective Men’s and Women’s national titles.
The tournament will provide the community with a great day out. The flare and excitement of sevens rugby action will be coupled with a tasty bite to eat. Kids can head along and enjoy the Whanau zone, with face painting, water fun and games. With the summer sun heating up ACC will be there to help rehydrate with a hydration station and Sonny Bill Williams will be assisting them in delivering their message of the importance of preparing for every game as an added bonus.
Tournament Event Manager Allison Stewart comments on the excitement the event is generating “There is a real buzz about town. It is great seeing the retailers getting involved and showing their support for the participating teams.”
Stewart further highlights what the event has to offer, “With awesome talent on display, great weather, Sonny Bill Williams coming along with ACC and a Whanau zone for kids, the tournament has something on offer for everyone”.
Tickets are available for purchase from the gate; $5 for adults and free for children 14 years and under. Gates will open at 8.30am with the first match kicking off at 9.00am.
