A retired businessman who spent his working life in the timber industry, Gary was also a notable rugby administrator, the inaugural Director of the Western Bay of Plenty Union and manager of the Bay of Plenty National Provincial side for a number of years. Gary is a keen participant in the thoroughbred racing industry as an owner and part-time breeder.
