Mike’s expertise balances both the practical and theoretical needs of business. He spent 18 years in the New Zealand Fire Service, followed by more than a decade as a senior manager in the transport industry. Mike also has an MBA from Massey University and has continually focused on professional development through Harvard Business School, the Institute of Directors, and Massey University.

Mike has a strong passion for governance and is a chartered member of the Institute of Directors and is currently on a couple of not-for-profit boards as an Independent Chair and Trustee. He is a previous Director of EMQUAL, the industry training organisation and standard-setting body for the fire and search and rescue industry.
