Former Deputy Mayor of Rotorua, Trevor is the city's longest serving District Councillor with more than 30 years to his credit. Tourism New Zealand appointed Trevor as Kaupapa Director in 2008, and he is currently Chairman of the Opera in the Park organising committee, Deputy Chairman of Toi Maori (New Zealand Maori Arts Board), and a member of the Rotorua Civic Arts Trust, Lakeside Concert Charitable Trust and the Rotorua Tourism Board. Former leader of award-winning cultural group, Ngati Rangiwewehi, he was also the Te Arawa representative on the Aotearoa Performing Arts Committee.
Whakatane Town AFC (WTAFC) has received a significant boost via a $19,782 grant from New Zealand Community Trust (NZCT) towards new uniforms, nets and balls.
The NZCT has awarded $20,000 to the Whakatane Surf Life Saving Club in Ohope to help fund a coaching professional.
NZCT awarded $15,000 to Tauranga Moana to support the first Hui Aranga held over Easter in Te Puna, Tauranga. The grant covered the cost of marquee hire and ensured that the Hui Aranga continued.
