Within the Community House beats the heart of Stratford

Stratford Community House was purpose built to provide affordable office accommodation, meeting space and admin facilities for social services, community and voluntary organisations serving the Stratford community. The House has now been in operation for eleven years and represents a shining example of what can be achieved when organisations collaborate in order to respond to community need.

Our boardroom is used regularly by our Tenant organisations, social service providers and community groups for meetings and workshop presentations. It is equipped with its own kitchenette and originally, with a projector and screen. With the rapid progress in IT over the past decade, the projector had become outdated – it had no Wi-fi capability and was no longer compatible with the new model laptops, resulting in time consuming setups which could be a little stressful when time was short! After approaching Taranaki Sound Hire (TSH) for advice, we applied to NZCT for the funding of an LED screen, to which laptops could be connected directly. TSH installed it for us in record time and now it’s just too easy!

We’re very grateful to NZCT for approving our grant application. It is such a huge improvement from our previous setup and certainly looks very impressive! We’ve received loads of positive feedback already and we’re confident the screen will encourage increased use as well as attract new groups to our boardroom in the future. We’re all excited about seeing it used as much as possible.
